Our Approach
Our Sustainability Strategy
A comprehensive framework guiding our commitment to environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy
Implementing measures to reduce energy consumption and increase the use of renewable energy sources such as solar power. This involves upgrading to energy-efficient appliances, optimizing building insulation, and investing in renewable energy infrastructure.
Resource Conservation & Waste Reduction
Adopting practices to minimize resource consumption and waste generation throughout the lifecycle of products and services. This includes promoting recycling programs, reducing packaging waste, and implementing circular economy principles.
Sustainable Supply Chain Management
Ensuring that supply chains are ethically sourced, environmentally responsible, and socially equitable. We evaluate suppliers based on their environmental practices, labor conditions, and overall sustainability performance.
Carbon Footprint Reduction
Setting targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across operations, transportation, and product lifecycle. This includes switching to electric vehicles, offsetting carbon emissions through reforestation projects, and implementing carbon pricing mechanisms.
Independent Certification Sets Us Apart
Planet Mark, an internationally recognised sustainability leader, have been appointed as our partner to help deliver net zero targets and achieve long term success. We are certified by Planet Mark for measurable Net Zero progress, with annual verification of Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions. Our collaboration extends to helping customers on their own ESG journeys.

Sustainability Commitments
Building a cleaner future
Certified Carbon Neutrality
- Sybron has achieved certified Carbon Neutral status, verified by independent assessment through Planet Mark.
- Our carbon neutrality covers all Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, achieved by combining reduction initiatives with verified offset projects.
- This certification reflects our commitment to credible, measurable environmental performance, not just aspiration.
- Offsetting focuses on projects delivering both climate impact and social benefit, such as reforestation and renewable-energy generation.
Net Zero Targets
- Sybron’s Net Zero Target Report (developed with Planet Mark) defines clear year-on-year reduction goals, aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
- Committed to reducing total carbon emissions by 45% by 2030, in line with UK Government and EA guidance.
- Monitoring progress against energy use across facilities and fleet, waste reduction and recycling performance, and supplier manufacturing/logistics emissions.
Zero-Carbon Energy Transition
- All Sybron sites — offices, warehouses, and the new Stafford facility — are powered by 100% renewable electricity supplied by British Gas.
- Every kilowatt-hour is backed by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) and nuclear declarations confirming zero-carbon generation.
- Plans include on-site generation (solar installations) and energy-efficiency improvements through LED lighting, smart HVAC, and building-management controls.
Stafford Facility: Energy Efficiency at the Core
- Sybron’s new Stafford distribution centre represents the next stage in our sustainability journey — a site designed from the ground up for energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
- The facility is fitted with solar panels to generate clean on-site power, and EV charging infrastructure to support our growing electric fleet.
- By locating this site strategically within the Midlands, Sybron reduces average customer delivery distances — cutting total transport mileage and emissions while improving service efficiency.
- Construction and fit-out have been guided by sustainable-build principles, including high-performance insulation, LED lighting, and smart energy-management controls.
EV Fleet: Driving Sustainable Logistics
- Sybron’s commitment to decarbonisation extends beyond buildings — our logistics fleet is transitioning to electric vehicles across all core routes.
- The ongoing rollout of electric vans has already begun, with charging infrastructure installed at both Harlow and Stafford depots.
- Using route-optimisation technology, deliveries are dynamically planned to minimise mileage, idling, and CO₂ output.
- Each new EV added to the fleet contributes directly to our Scope 1 emission reductions, while enhancing local air quality for the communities we serve.
